Adolescents with disabilities often
struggle with
learning appropriate social behavior and reading the social cues
of others.
The Teen Center Social Group, a
social and pragmatic language skills development program for
adolescents age 13 and up with Asperger’s, High Functioning Autism, and related
disorders, seeks to alleviate these struggles.
Offered
in association with the South
Shore YMCA, Quincy
Branch, and funded
through the City of Quincy's Community Development Block Grant Program,
this group is
facilitated by two enthusiastic, highly-trained instructors.
Participants in the Teen Center Social
Group receive instruction
and strategies for building social skills in a place where they can
recognize, practice, and feel at ease with everyday social
encounters while building confidence, developing friendships, and
having fun in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere!
