QPAC
hosts presentations, workshops,
and other events on special education and
disability-related topics throughout the school year!
Events are held at Quincy High School, 100 Coddington Street, unless otherwise noted. For morning and afternoon events, please use the main entrance on Coddington Street.
Parking is available on the street in front on the school. For evening events, please use the Huntley Road entrance at the rear of the building. Lot parking is available. Quincy High School is also MBTA-accessible, via Quincy Center Station and multiple bus lines. Contact us if you need assistance in locating an event!
Most QPAC events are free, but an RSVP is requested. Why RSVP? When you let us know you are attending, we can make sure to
provide enough seats, handouts, and refreshments!

An IEP for my Child

February 9th, 2012, 6:30 pm at Quincy High School
Join us as we host the Federation for Children with Special Needs for a presentation about the Individualized Education Program (IEP). This
workshop will take parents step-by-step through IEP development,
including how to articulate a vision, using evaluations to write
measurable goals, and measuring their child’s progress.This workshop is free and open to the public - parents, teachers, and others are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served. An RSVP is requested.
Accessing Community Supports and Services
Friday, March 2nd, 2012, 9 am in the QPAC Resource Center at Quincy High School
Join
us for an interactive workshop on identifying and accessing community
supports and services for your child and family. We will discuss state
agencies and services, community organizations, therapuetic providers,
social and recreational opportunities, and much, much more! This workshop is free and open to the public - parents, teachers, and others are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served. An RSVP is requested.
Understanding Educational Evaluations

Donna Cunningham and Erin
Perkins, QPS Special Education Team Administrators, will present this
workshop on understanding evaluation within the special education
process. Participants will learn when and why an evaluation is
conducted, different types of assessments that may be conducted as part of the evaluation, and
how to interpret and understand evaluation reports. This workshop is free and open to the public - parents, teachers, and others are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served. An RSVP is requested.
