QPAC Calendar 
 
Listed below are QPAC general meeting, workshops, and events scheduled for the 2008 - 2009 school year. General Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, from 7 pm to 9 pm at Broad Meadows Middle School unless otherwise noted (directions). Workshops and other events are held periodically throughout the school year. See below for information. 
 
2008 - 2009 QPAC Calendar:

  • August 19th, 2008 - General Meeting (location to be announced)
  • September 16th, 2008 - General Meeting 
  • October 21st, 2008 - General Meeting
  • November 18th, 2008 - General Meeting
  • December 4th, 2008 - An IEP for My Child (location to be announced)
    Presented by the Federation for Children with Special Needs
    Every child with a disability who receives special education services must have an Individual Education Program. This workshop takes parents step-by-step through the development of the IEP including how to articulate a Vision, using evaluations to write annual measurable goals and how to measure their child’s progress.
  • December 16th, 2008 - General Meeting
  • January 20th, 2009 - General Meeting
  • February 5th, 2009 - Transition; Planning the Next Steps for Youth 14-22 (location to be announced)
    Presented by the Federation for Children with Special Needs
    This workshop addresses the issues related to designing the right curriculum and supports throughout high school so that the student will be on the right track for becoming self-sufficient and living independently after graduation. Information and strategies will be provided to help parents and  students translate individual preferences and dreams into meaningful goals in the IEP.
